Glasgow International Airport (GLA) is located about 8 miles towards the south west of Glasgow city, close to the towns of Paisley and Renfrew in Renfrewshire. In 2009, the airport controlled about 7,225,021 passengers, with an 11.7% annual reduction, designating it as the 2nd busiest in Scotland, moreover the eighth busiest airport of the UK. It was the first airport in Scotland to handle over one million passengers in one month, in July 2004. The British Airways head quarters are also headed by this airport.
